Accessibility statement

This site is built to be usable by anyone, with any tool: keyboard, screen reader, magnification, high contrast. Below is where things actually stand — what is in order, what is not yet, and how to report a problem to me.

What this covers

This statement covers the website visiomultimedia.com, all of its pages, in both Italian and English.

Conformance status

The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. "Partially" is not a polite formula: it means I applied the criteria while building, and that some of them I have not yet checked with real measurements. Until that check is complete, saying "conformant" would be a claim I cannot back up.

What is already in order

• A "skip to content" link at the start of every page, to jump past the navigation.
• Everything is reachable by keyboard, and wherever you are is always visible through a focus outline.
• When you reorder projects or articles, the order really changes in the page and not just on screen: people navigating by keyboard meet them in the same order as people looking at them.
• Every content image has alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
• The contact form fields have real labels, and the result of a submission is announced to screen reader users.
• Links that open a new tab say so, rather than just opening one.
• Animations stop if you have asked your system for reduced motion.
• No video plays on its own: films start only if you click them.
• The language of every page is declared in the code, so synthetic voices pronounce it correctly.
• Pages are static HTML: the content reads even if JavaScript does not run.

What is not in order yet

These are the limits I know about today. I write them here so you know what to expect, not to excuse them.

• Contrast in the dark theme. I have a concrete suspicion that some headings do not reach the required minimum contrast ratio (criterion 1.4.3). This needs a systematic pass with real measurements on both themes, and I have not done it yet.
• No independent check. Everything written above comes from my own self-assessment, not from a third-party audit. I have checked structure, keyboard navigation and behaviour; I have not yet systematically measured contrast and 200% zoom.
• Videos hosted on YouTube. Captions and transcripts depend on the original film, and in some cases they are missing (criterion 1.2.2). I can act on the ones I uploaded; on other people's, I cannot.
• Archived comments. Under the older articles are the comments from the previous site, read-only. They are the words of the people who wrote them and I have not rewritten them, so their text does not follow the writing rules of the rest of the site.

How I checked it

Self-assessment, carried out by me during development: manual keyboard testing, checks on the heading structure and reading order, and testing the site without JavaScript. A full audit following the WCAG-EM methodology is planned, and this page will be updated with the result.

Report a problem to me

If a page is not usable for you, write to me at a11y (at) visiomultimedia (dot) com. Tell me the address of the page, what you were trying to do and with which tool (browser, screen reader, magnification): with those three things I can almost always reproduce the problem.

I reply personally, usually within a few working days. If you need a piece of content in a different form — a document, a transcript, the information on a page sent by email — ask me and I will send it.

If my answer is not enough

If you report a problem to me and get no reply, or the reply does not satisfy you, you can contact the national authority responsible for accessibility in the country where you are.
